Frank Maston is a Los Angeles-born musician, composer and producer, currently based in Paris. He has released five albums under his surname Maston and has produced and mixed music for numerous other artists.
Maston grew up with a deep appreciation for the musical heritage of his native LA. He spent his teenage years experimenting with writing and recording and in 2011 he released a series of cassette EP’s as Maston and began playing live in the LA music scene. His first full-length LP “Shadows” was released in 2013 to positive reviews, with Pitchfork hailing him as a “bedroom-pop genius”.
Following "Shadows", Maston toured Europe extensively, which greatly inspired his second album “Tulips”. It incorporated new influences from vintage French and Italian soundtrack and library music and was released in 2017.
A commission from legendary library music label KPM led to the album “Panorama”, released in 2021 to positive reviews. This was followed by his fourth album “Souvenir”- recorded live in studio with the Swiss quintet L’éclair as his backing band. Maston is currently working on new music.
