Frank Maston (b. 1987) is a Los Angeles-born musician, composer and producer, currently based in Paris. He has released five albums under his surname Maston, and has produced and mixed music for numerous other artists.

His music blends influences from classic Italian film composers like Alessandro Alessandroni and Ennio Morricone with the American sensibilities of Burt Bacharach and Brian Wilson.

Maston grew up with a deep appreciation for the musical heritage of his native LA, and an early obsession with The Beach Boys would inform much of how he approached music. He spent his teenage years experimenting with writing and recording and in 2011 he released a series of cassette albums as Maston and began playing live in the LA music scene. His first full-length LP “Shadows” was released in 2013 to positive reviews, with Pitchfork hailing him as a “bedroom-pop genius”.

Following the release of "Shadows", Maston toured Europe extensively, which greatly inspired his second album “Tulips”. It incorporated new influences from vintage French and Italian soundtrack and library music and was released in 2017 on Maston’s own Phonoscope label .

This period began an association with the genre that led to a commission from legendary library music label KPM. The resulting album “Panorama” was released in 2021 and cemented Maston’s position as a formidable contemporary composer. That year also saw the release of his fourth album “Souvenir”- recorded live in studio with the Swiss quintet L’éclair as his backing band.

Aside from his solo work, Frank Maston currently composes music for film and tours with several artists, including the whistler Molly Lewis and the LA band Allah-Las. Maston is currently supporting Allah-Las on their summer 2024 EU and West Coast U.S. tours.
